The RCY x RAC MiGreat iAppreciate initiative brought together NTU volunteers and migrant workers for a meaningful day of learning, connection, and appreciation. The event aimed to foster genuine interaction between both groups through shared activities while celebrating the invaluable contributions of migrant workers to Singapore’s development. Through a series of practical workshops, which included financial literacy, the DARE emergency response programme, and a mental wellness session, participants gained essential life skills to support their daily well-being. Complementing these sessions were interactive educational booths on first aid, mental wellness, and financial management, along with fun station games such as archery, bowling, and fitness challenges, which encouraged bonding in a relaxed, enjoyable environment. The programme not only equipped migrant workers with practical knowledge but also created a platform for volunteers to develop leadership, communication, and cross-cultural understanding. By collaborating with partners such as the Singapore Red Cross, MWC, and NTU student organisations, the event strengthened long-term relationships and reaffirmed a shared commitment to supporting the migrant community. Overall, MiGreat iAppreciate succeeded in nurturing empathy, building connections, and appreciating the migrant workers who play a vital role in shaping the nation.
